The Best Banana Bread that you have ever tasted!
Banana Sour Cream Bread
I know that you are probably thinking that this is yet another banana bread recipe, but this one is amazing! It’s super simple and makes 4 loaves, which in my house means it’s gone in 4 days. Yummy!
You will need:
For the pan dusting-
¼ cup white sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
For the bread-
¾ cup butter
3 cups white sugar
3 eggs
6 very ripe bananas, mashed
1 (16 oz) container of sour cream
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp ground cinnamon
A dash of nutmeg
A dash of ground cloves
½ tsp salt
3 tsp baking soda
4 ½ cups flour
1 cup chopped walnuts
Crumble topping-
½ cup packed brown sugar
½ cup flour
½ cup chopped walnuts
1 tsp ground cinnamon
3 tablespoon butter or margarine
Directions:
1. Pre-heat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Grease four 7x3 loaf pans (I use metal). In a small bowl, mix the ¼ cup white sugar and 1 tsp ground cinnamon. Dust 4 pans lightly with cinnamon and sugar mixture.
2. In a large bowl, cream butter and 3 cups sugar. Mix in eggs, mashed bananas, sour cream, vanilla and cinnamon. I add a dash of cloves and nutmeg here too, but it’s up to you. Mix in the salt, baking soda and flour. Stir in nuts. Divide into prepared pans. Mix up the crumble. ½ cup brown sugar, ½ cup flour ½ walnuts, 1 tsp ground cinnamon and 3 tablespoons butter or margarine. Divide this topping on top between the 4 pans.
3. Bake for 1 hour. I check it with a toothpick in the center. If it’s not clean I will bake 10 more minutes. It shouldn’t need any more than that.
4. All done! Be ready to enjoy the best banana nut bread you have ever tasted!!!
